FORUM UNIQUE among public radio stations across the country,
KUER-FM 90's innovative Citizen Panel is a group of
Utahns who represent demographically the spectrum of political,
social, cultural and religious backgrounds found in Utah.
Each week leading up to the election, KUER panelists discuss
issues and question candidates in hour-long forums. You can
either hear them on the air at FM-90, or read the transcripts
online.
KUER's goal is to engage candidates in a discussion with
voters, so you learn about their views as well as their character
from how they respond to constituents. Youll be able
to judge a candidates ability to listen, his or her
attitude toward the public, and how the candidate responds
when pushed to take a stand.
KUERs news staff will follow up with stories on the
people and ideas uncovered throughout the process. Finalized
in late summer, the panel discussions will begin broadcasting
in early fall of 2000. Listen to FM-90 and watch this website
for more details.
