Candidate Questions and Answers
- To: Bill
Orton (D) on Education Funding Specifics
Q: "This is for Bill Orton: How exactly do you propose
to fund education? If, as you say, we should fund education
first, how will you do this? Please be specific."
From Pam Su'a, West Jordan, Utah

- To: Gov.
Michael Leavitt (R) on Real Raise for Teachers
Q: "Do you believe that school teachers got
a raise this year? By the time teachers are put in a higher
tax bracket and the money we were allotted is spread between
special educators, counselors, and teachers and we pay for
our health insurance, most educators got a smaller pay check
this year. Is there something wrong with this?"
From Pam Su'a, West Jordan

- To: Leavitt on Debate Schedule
Q: "Governor Leavitt: Why can't
you find time in your schedule to debate Bill Orton in front
of the public? Orton's office has informed me that your
last debate will be on the 19th of October and that he is
willing to debate at any time and any place both before
and after that date. Why can't there be more debates up
until November 7th? Do Utahns not deserve to really hear
the candidates?"
From Aaron Drake, Lehi
