State Representative 15

Gibbs M. Smith
Party:
Candidate Office:

Our current legislative mix--a virtual one-party system
--is harming Uah in various ways through such misplaced priorities as strange payoffs, message bills, lack of vision in development versus quality of life, abysmal education funding, conservation of our unparalleled public lands, sane renewable energy policy, recognition of the effects of greenhouse gases. ineffective air quality improvement efforts--to name a few.

As the representative for District 15, I would employ the skills I have honed in running a small business for 46 years, during which time our business has provided employment for talented and creative people with no economic incentives from the state or federal governments. I can run a meeting; I can work with others to arrive at mutually desired solutions; I know how to economize, and I often think outside the box.

I attended Davis County schools, and the universities of Utah and California, studying history, architectural history, and philosophy. I love this beautiful state and hope to help its leadership begin to match its potential.
