My goals for our district are to: support ethical practices in the legislature promote policies that are small business-friendly root out inefficient/unwise practices that needlessly increase our taxes, water rates, & impact fees promote new businesses and increase jobs expand markets for existing businesses in our rural Utah counties protect our existing water resources and promote water conservation for future growth opportunities bring a voice to the people of our rural counties support our unique qualities that attract visitors worldwide & boost our #1 economy!

Candidate Office: 
Although born in Washington, DC, Torin grew up in Utah, and can trace his family lineage back to some of the original pioneers to this great state. The son of Harold and Patricia Nelson, Torin learned from an early age the value of service and community. His father was a mathematician for the United States Postal Service and later a computer systems analyst for Salt Lake County. His mother worked for many years at the University of Utah. After going to Jordan High School and the University of Utah, where he majored in History, with minors in political science and German, Torin joined the United States Army in 1992.
Candidate Office: 

Daniel Geery, educator, writer, inventor. “We should put children first, seriously first, and make decisions in their interest and that of generations to come.” Geery will accept no money for his campaign, believing we should run our country on principles and good ideas, with no taint of money influencing decisions. Candidate Office: 
Rocky has always been committed to the principle that justice – social justice, environmental justice, and economic justice – must be an essential aim of public policy. His heartfelt commitment to social justice is reflected in many of the numerous articles and columns he has authored for local publications. For instance, he has written articles for magazines on such diverse topics as ethics in politics, combating racism, and criminal justice reform. He also wrote a weekly column for The Enterprise, a Utah business newspaper, covering issues such as tax reform, valuing diversity, and the importance of character in public life.
